Low angle shot
Sub-genre: Spy
Reflects: The actor is unaware of the shot being taken, the fact that
the photo shows mainly the back of the actor adds some of mystery to the shot,
as the audience are unable to see the action taking place.
What went well? :
- Clear that it is a low angle shot
- Main focus is on the actor
- The actor is unaware of the camera
Even better if? :
- Make the sub-genre more obvious, so that a real sense of mystery can be felt by the audience as they would have a small clue if the shot was from the front.
- Make the surroundings for the scene more linked with the sub-genre.
Over the shoulder shot
Sub-genre: Action
Reflects: Away from the camera
and from the other actor, showing that she's getting further away to get to a
new position quickly.
What went well? :
- It’s obvious to the audience what shot it is and the angle it is coming from.
- The shoulder is out of focus, meaning there is more emphasis on the actor.
- The lighting in the picture matches the sub-genre.
Even better if? :
- Position the actor in a running position to make it more clear what the actors are doing.
- Make it clear why the shot we have chosen is appropriate for the shot.
Extreme close up
Sub-genre: horror
Reflects: the note left for the victim to express fear and
tension as well as a build-up of suspense making the audience drawn to it more.
What went well? :
- The framing was well made and cut out in the shot.
- The writing isn’t obvious to see who may have potentially wrote the note.
Even better if? :
- The camera was much more focused into the shot.
- The lighting should have been much dimmer.
